Thigh lift
A thigh lift (thigh reduction) improves the shape and contour of the upper thighs by removing excess skin and, in some cases, fat — creating firmer, smoother, more proportionate thighs. It can also relieve the chafing and irritation that loose, rubbing skin can cause.

What it involves
Incisions are usually placed within the groin crease so scars are as discreet as possible; where more correction is needed, a vertical incision down the inner thigh may be added. Excess skin and fat are removed and the remaining tissue tightened and reshaped, sometimes combined with liposuction to refine the contour.
Who it may suit
Particularly suitable for patients troubled by loose inner-thigh skin after weight loss or age-related laxity, who are in stable health, close to their ideal weight, and realistic about the results and scarring involved.
Recovery
Swelling, bruising and tightness are expected, with gentle walking encouraged early on and strenuous activity avoided until cleared. Recovery is typically two to three weeks, with swelling improving over several months. Compression garments may be recommended to support healing and contour.
